For many obsessive World of Warcraft players, the in-game Auction House is basically a virtual-world stock market. They’ll log in obsessively just to check the going rate for crafting materials, and now they’ll be able to facilitate their addiction without having to be near a computer.
The details are still sparse, but Bornakk, a Blizzard employee, was quoted as saying on the WoW forums, “While there are still plenty of details to be worked out, we’re designing the service to offer auction functionality similar to what’s available in-game.”
WoW fans have been waiting for a way to remotely access the Auction House for a very long time. Now virtual traders will have a chance to buy and sell goods from anywhere.
Blizzard’s unending war against your free time is nearly over. Soon they’ll have control over you when you’re at work and the bus stop. When their dominion over your waking hours is complete, we fully expect Blizzard to unveil some type of WoW-branded dream machine to keep you playing while you sleep.
