Looks like another port of an excellent console game is heading to iOS. Ubisoft announced at Gamescom this week that Valiant Hearts: The Great War will make its way to the App Store as a universal app on September 4.
Valiant Hearts is an adventure game set during World War I. It follows the separate stories of a handful of characters as they make their way across Europe, experiencing the war from a number of different angles. Gameplay-wise, there are puzzles to solve and a little bit of action. The game is also pretty historically accurate, so you just might learn a thing or two as you play.
According to reviews of the other versions of the game, which came out in June, the game has great writing and well drawn characters. The focus is on how the war affects the people, and not on shooting endless streams of enemies — not the typical content of a war game.
I’m really looking forward to checking out Valiant Hearts, in part because it looks like a great unique game, but it also seems like a great fit for the touchscreen.
