A few weeks ago, we reported on Freeverse’s adventures with the iPhone’s hidden TV-out capabilities, using Moto Racer as the guinea pig. Now we’ve learned that a developer named Steven Troughton-Smith has gone one further–he turned the iPhone into a controller for id’s Doom, and played the thing on an old monochrome Apple II monitor! Trump card, suckas!
We realize that this has next to no bearing on the iPhone gaming community at large, but we love seeing talented geeks like Mr. Troughton-Smith go to town on stuff like this, and we wanted to give him a shout-out. Quoth Troughton-Smith: “This is what passes for ‘fun’ around me.” No air quotes necessary, friend.
