Telltale Games has just announced on their blog that the first episode of The Walking Dead adventure game will come to iOS on Thursday, July 26. This won’t come as a surprise to anyone who read our story about Apple accidentally posting a feature slot for the game in iTunes on Friday. Check out the details and screenshots below.
The Walking Dead will be a universal app, will cost $4.99, and will work on the following devices and newer: iPad 2, iPhone 4, and fourth-gen iPod Touch. The full game will consist of five episodes, the rest of which you’ll be able to download from within the app, and will cost $4.99 apiece. Or, if you think you’ll want to play all of the episodes, you can pre-purchase episodes 2 – 5 for $14.99 for a savings of five bucks.
I’ve played the first episode on the PC, and I can attest that it’s a pretty intense adventure game. Like the show, it consists of quiet periods where you get to know the characters, followed by crazy-psychotic flesh-eating zombie attacks. Choices you make will result in characters living or dying. ‘Nuff said.
