The Dark Knight: Batmobile Game First Impressions

Warner Bros. just put out a quickie game to promote the release of The Dark Knight’s DVD. Developed by Glu Mobile, the makers of Space Monkey, The Dark Knight: Batmobile Game focuses entirely on Batman’s ride… and all its nifty amenities.

Billed as a “Glu Snax,” which we assume is a new category akin to ngmoco’s “fast apps,” the 99 cent game consists of one gameplay sequence that lasts just over a minute. The idea is to play it over and over again until you master the Batmobile’s controls and run a flawless route. Then you enter bonus mode, which replays the scene at an increasingly fast pace until you screw up.

We eventually got our time down to 49.4 seconds, at which point we were invited to challenge a friend to play the Robin to our Batman. Obviously, there’s not a whole lot to the Batmobile Game, but if you like simple “record-setting” games like Sapus Tongue, it may be worth a look.
