Covering the world of App Store gaming isn’t an easy task, and it requires a lot of different people with unique skills to run a website like Slide To Play. Recently we made some changes to our staff so that we can continue to provide you with the best iOS gaming news, reviews, and features. After four years of being your Editor in Chief at Slide To Play, I’ll be moving up to the position of CEO, with the incredibly talented Chris Reed as Slide To Play’s new Editor in Chief.
My new duties as CEO include managing the technical and business aspects of the site– building out new site features, relaunching our GameFinder app, and bringing in advertisers so that we can pay the bills. This means I’ll have less time to contribute to our daily conversation about what’s new in iOS gaming, but I can make sure that Chris and the rest of the editorial team have all the tools they need.
I’m honored that I could help shape Slide To Play’s coverage of App Store games over the past four years as Editor in Chief. Every story we publish has the potential to inform consumers about how they should spend their time and money, but they’re also read by developers to learn how to improve their products. And when the app competition is this heated, an independent press is essential to breaking through the hype, so that we can judge these games on their own merits.
Slide To Play’s co-founder and former CEO Steve Palley will stay involved with the site as our General Manager, but he’ll also be taking time off to focus on completing his Ph.D. Even with all these changes, our staff is still dedicated to generating the best iOS gaming coverage possible, and we couldn’t do it without the support of our audience. Thanks everyone for reading, and be sure to leave us comments, follow us on Twitter, and like us on Facebook to keep the conversation going.
