Whether it’s racing through the streets in Need for Speed Shift or bolting across city rooftops in Canabalt, there is no denying that speed often equates with fun. The tunnel shooter genre is one that almost inherently has speed as its key component. Tunnel Shoot has the level variety and graphics down, but lacks this important sense of speed.
Like similar games, your goal is to earn a high score by traveling as far as you can down an endless tunnel with just three lives. You can fire bullets to take out enemies or use bombs that destroy everything in sight, but these come in limited supply. There is also a lot of variety in the obstacles, including electric fences and pillars that jut through the tunnel. These are complemented by super-flashy neon graphics.

Where Sonic and space collide.
Tunnel Shoot’s big flaw is that you never get an adrenaline rush, because you're never going all that fast. Adding some kind of blur effect or just making the game faster in general could easily fix this. Without either of these, the game gets boring quickly.
On the plus side, Tunnel Shoot is a universal app and only costs $0.99. It also has Plus+ leaderboards. If you fondly remember classic games like Tempest, you may want to give this one a try. Otherwise, we’d hold off until the developers make some tweaks.

Another failed review from Slide to Play. This game is just great, has very nice graphics and interesting mechanics. For only 99 cents you just can´t go wrong with this game.
I can hardly believe that a lack of "speed" is enough to justify a 2. If the game does so much right, it at least deserves a 3.
For this genre, speed is crucial. I think this game certainly has potential but without a speed boost it just feels boring.
i think its really fun though ... deserves a better rating, and on iphone 4 the sense of speed is really there ... esp in insanity mode
