Today, Apple CEO Steve Jobs resigned his position, saying he could "no longer meet [his] duties and expectations." Jobs recommended Tim Cook as Apple's new CEO, which the Apple Board of Supervisors immediately approved. Jobs has also been elected as Apple's Chairman of the Board. Read Jobs' resignation letter below.
The following is Steve Jobs' full resignation letter:
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
Steve

Oh no! This is awful news! I will miss Steve as CEO of apple
Finally
I hate Jobs, he is a moron
Because you obviously were the CEO of the largest company in the world. I think he was doing something right...
Woah. Wasn't expecting that.
Seems like all he cares about is what is best for the company. His salary has always been $1 and only makes money from his stock ownership in the company. Steve Jobs is the in my eyes the greatest business man there is. He deserves everything he got fame and business wise. Shame his health wasn't as ambitious as him. This was inevitable as he has had multiple surgeries and complications. There are great minds that will replace him and Apple will live on and continue to provide great user friendly products.
Will apple b the same
I think Steve Jobs has steered Apple into the right direction and provided some great fundamental foundations for the next CEO to step into and continue to grow Apple's success.
