Original Max Payne Coming to Mobile Platforms

Shack News reported today that Rockstar Games is bringing the original Max Payne to mobile platforms. The game will have enhanced graphics, "customizable controls with wire controller support, and connectivity to the Rockstar Games Social Club." They haven't announced when the game will come out, or whether it's coming to iOS, but if it's being ported to mobile phones it seems likely.

Max Payne is a third-person shooter from 2001 that tells the noir-ish tale of an undercover DEA agent trying to bring down the mafia. The gameplay relies heavily on the player using bullet time to slow down the action, a mechanic that has been used in many games since. In fact, Gameloft used Max Payne as the inspiration for their iOS shooter 9mm.

We've reached out to Rockstar Games for confirmation on whether or not Max Payne is headed to iOS. We'll update this article when we hear back.
