Epic Games' Mike Capps took the stage at Apple's "Let's Talk iPhone" event and announced that Infinity Blade 2-- the sequel to one of the most popular iOS games ever-- will hit the App Store on December 1. Check out the teaser trailer below.
Based on the announcement and accompanying press release, it sounds like Infinity Blade 2 will be very similar to the original Infinity Blade, but with new environments, enemies, fighting styles, and weapons. There's also a new online mode called Clash Mob, which lets you "participate with fellow gamers in unique 'massively social' challenges to unlock rare weapons and exclusive items." Ah, the things we'll do for loot.
If the trailer is to be taken at face value, you'll be able to dual-wield swords, which could be the new fighting style they mention. The game will also use the iOS 5-only feature iCloud to let you transfer game saves and profiles between multiple iOS devices. The price hasn't been announced yet, but the original Infinity Blade hit the App Store at $5.99.
Also announced was "Infinity Blade: Awakening," a novella by Brandon Sanderson that's available now in the iBookstore for $2.99. Mr. Sanderson is known for his Mistborn series of fantasy novels and for finishing the Wheel of Time series.

If this doesn't run on my iPod 4g I'll be pissed.
me too
This has handheld game of the year written all over it!
What about monster hunter tri though? Which game will be better?
@Mike
Monster Hunter is good, but Infinity Blade is much better.
Millions of Japanese gamers will disagree with your opinion.
Millions of Japanese people also like squid monsters raping raping anime girls, that doesn't make them right.
Says you.
Actually, alot of people would say that.
THANK YOU.
This is what I was thinking.
Monster Hunter is a good game on console, but on iPhone Infinity Blade is better due to a more engaging gameplay, story, and better graphic.
I am a fan of both games and I'm looking forward to Infinity Blade 2. I don't want Infinity Blade 2 to be on-rail again, but from the look of the trailer, it will be on-rail.
Says Japan.
I want free roam!
Number one question most of will want to know... WHAT WILL IT RUN ON?
It will run on iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches, from 3GS and up.
It will not run smoothly on an iphone 3GS. The Dark Meadow and Shadowgun both run very choppy on the 3GS, so I'd bet a lot of money that Infinity Blade 2 will barely run on a 3GS.
