UPDATE: April 6th, 2011
This latest Cut the Rope update brings another level pack that includes 25 more levels, this time with a magic theme. All this really means is that there are now magician-like top hats that act as portals in some of the levels. The level design is as polished as it's always been, although collecting all of the stars here is easier than in the Valentine's Day levels. Regardless, this is a game that should be on your iOS device. If it isn't yet, make it so.
UPDATE: February 9th, 2011
A Valentine's Day update for Cut the Rope has just hit the App Store, featuring 25 new levels and a fun new gameplay gimmick. This time, the candy you must feed to adorable little Om Nom comes divided into two pieces, and you need to make the pieces touch and connect before he'll accept them. What a picky little critter he is!
The connect-the-candy gimmick is thoroughly explored in the the new levels, all of which are up to the standard of excellence we've come to expect from this terrific physics puzzler. We completed the new levels in about 20 minutes, so they're not very tough. But getting all three stars in each one will draw it out a little longer.
Easy or not, Cut the Rope is one of the top Must Have games on the App Store. If you haven't bought it yet, be sure to download it for yourself or your Valentine.
UPDATE: November 26th, 2010
Cut the Rope has gone extra terrestrial with its first update. What you get is a new level pack called the "Cosmic Box" that contains 25 new levels that let you flip gravity by pressing a button.
The gravity flipping ability feels right at home in the Cut the Rope universe, and the new puzzles are just as smartly designed as the original ones. They're also more difficult than any of the previous puzzles, but by the time you've unlocked them you should be able to handle them. Also included in this update is a much appreciated graphical upgrade for Retina display devices, plus a few additional achievements and more animations and expressions for Om Nom.
If you don't have Cut the Rope yet, there's no time like the present to pick it up. It's cheap, gorgeous, accessible, and an absolute blast.
Cut the Rope is a downright adorable action-puzzle-physics game. It’s also fresh, challenging, gorgeous, and highly entertaining. It has simple rules, intuitive controls, and can be played in short bursts or blitzed through in a marathon gaming session. In short, it’s exactly the type of game most people who own iPhones want to play. And play it they should!
The goal of each level is to feed a piece of candy, suspended by a series of ropes, into the mouth of a cuddly little monster named Om Nom, who is located somewhere on the screen. To do that, you have to cut the ropes in a way that makes the candy swing, jump, or fall into the little guy’s mouth. If you can do that while picking up all of the stars in each level, then you’re golden.
But this is a puzzle game, so you'll have to put on your thinking cap to figure out which ropes to cut, and in what order. Complicating matters, you'll encounter movable pegs, spikes and electricity, bubbles that make the candy float, and whoopie cushions that, when tapped, send puffs of air that can blow the candy where you need it to go.

Be careful where you sit.
Each level is cleverly designed to make delivering the candy to the monster difficult but not impossible. Solving the levels requires precise timing or delicate precision, or-- better yet-- both. As you progress through the game's 100 levels (more are on the way, says the developer), the difficulty mounts steadily, resulting in some real head-scratchers toward the end. Both Crystal and Game Center provide leaderboards and achievements, giving the game a healthy amount of replay value.
The only issues we have with Cut the Rope are some minor control annoyances. For instance, once sliding pegs are introduced, the game will occasionally think you're trying to move a peg when you mean to cut a rope or vice versa. This can get you into trouble in some levels, but it’s mostly a minor annoyance.
Cut the Rope is a game nearly everyone will enjoy, puzzle enthusiast or not. It packs all the charm, variety, and smart level design you could hope for, while maintaining simplicity of gameplay. In fact, we’d put it right up there with the best casual games on the App Store, like Fragger, Fruit Ninja, and Angry Birds. Be sure to pick this one up.

Would pay $2.99 for it. Great game. Keeps you entertained and puzzled through out all 100 levels. (With more on the way.)
People are eating this one up. This is the next Angry Birds.
Great game. Seriously polished, very, VERY playable. Warning, hand over your iPhone to show someone this charming game and you'll have a long wait to get it back! :)
I totally agree with you. At lunch time, one of my colleages always borrow my iPhone to play this game :)
This one has already taken over Angry Birds.
If it keeps up with the updates, this game could very possibly reach Angry Birds and Doodle Jump's caliber of being an all star app.
I got 3-stars on every puzzle today, and it was an absolute blast! I love this game. More levels, please!
this is a great game but i think the difficulty steeps a little too quickly on the newer levels
