Bethesda Softworks Producing iPhone Game

News Posted by Steve Palley, February 6th, 2009

Bethesda Softworks Executive Producer Todd Howard--the man in charge of Fallout 3 and the Elder Scrolls games--dropped a bombshell in a panel at the New York Comic Con today: the famed developer's next game will be on the App Store!

The news comes to us from Newsweek game guru N'Gai Croal, who served on the "Vs. Mode Live" panel along with Howard, Bioshock maestro Ken Levine, and MTV Multiplayer's Stephen Totilo. Croal posted the blurb on his Twitter page with no further details.

Being enormous fans of Bethesda's work, we are more than happy to speculate. We can't imagine this game will have any connection to either Fallout 3 or Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Bethesda's last two releases, but it could very well hearken back to one of the earlier Fallout or Elder Scrolls titles, which would be a much better fit for the iPhone from a technical standpoint.

Exciting news, in any case.

    This is very interesting.
Perhaps this story and the confirmed premium-games section story will unravel a connection later on.
