The battles in the Great War stretched from the depths of the sea to the heights of the sky. Ace Patrol, a new iOS strategy game by master developer Sid Meier, will bring some of those epic airborne dog fights to the small screen next week.
Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol takes place during the thick of the First World War. You get a chance to relive history by jumping into your own biplane and engaging in battles with the enemy. Your mission: Protect your base camp, and your allies.
There are 120 missions to work through, and each one calls for special strategy. How should you react when your opponent is flying straight for you? Should you bank left? Try and gain a height advantage? Go straight for the throat? Whatever you decide, victory grants you the privilege of brining on new pilots and upgrading the skills and equipment of your veterans.
If you’d rather keep out of the war campaign, you can play with a friend locally, or engage in asynchronous multiplayer. Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol is free-to-play, and will receive a worldwide release on May 9.
