With The Deep Pinball, we were expecting a quality game of silver ball. After all, millions downloaded the last pinball game from Gameprom, Wild West Pinball. What we weren’t expecting is that the experience would be quite so’¦ well, deep.
Pinball, after all, isn’t often known for its depth. You just flip the paddles and keep hitting those bumpers, right?
This way to adventure.
Well, The Deep Pinball has all kinds of hidden nooks and crannies to explore, including a sunken ship and a treasure chest. You can even go hunting for sea creatures, and embark on “missions”. The missions are pretty simple, usually just requiring you to hit a particular ramp or land your ball in a certain part of the table, but it’s much more than we’re used to from a pinball game.
Plus, this is an amazing looking pinball game. It’s the kind of game you’ll want to show off to your friends, as the camera angles and 3D visuals take you deep within the board. And, The Deep Pinball’s online list has tens of thousands of competitors, so it’s a real challenge trying to climb that leaderboard.
If there’s a better game of pinball on the iPhone, we haven’t played it. The Deep Pinball is an absolute steal for 99 cents, and even if you’re not much of a pinball wizard, it’s way too good to pass up.
