A new review has rolled in for Magenta Arcade, the game of directing streams of bullets with your finger — and also avoiding streams of bullets by dodging and removing your finger from the screen. 148Apps gives the game 4 out of 5 stars in their review.
So, where does Magenta Arcade stand out most of all? By what happens when you release your finger’s hold on the screen. Your ship vanishes and is safe from all attack, until you put your finger back on screen and unleash some damage. This method of ducking in and out of combat sounds like something that should make the game far too easy, but it doesn’t. Instead, it’s fairly well balanced and remains quite challenging.
Four Letters is a word game with a delightfully simple premise: It gives you four letters and a tight time limit, and asks you to spell a word using all of the letters. Like most games, it starts out easy and quickly ramps up the difficulty. 148Apps gave it a solid 4 out of 5 star review.
Even though it’d ruin the name, a part of me wishes you could play Four Letters with five letters or more – but I accept that ruins the point. In its current guise, it’s as comfortable to play for a few seconds as it is for much longer. It really is intoxicatingly simple yet addictive.
