In case the title isn’t clear enough for you, this is a game about boxing monkeys. With two buttons, it’s about as simple as games get, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth a look. Check out our hands-on video below. Read More
In the last year, iOS games like Lili and Horn have shown us that epic action-adventure games are, in fact, possible on a touchscreen. Soon, we may be able to add another single-word title to the list: Spiral, an intriguing, futuristic game with outstanding Unreal Engine graphics and animation.
Yesterday we took a look at the upcoming free-to-play shooter The Drowning in a hands-on preview. Today we’ve got hands-on video footage of the game, with commentary. The Drowning, a unique free-to-play shooter we’ve had our eye on for a while, has just been released in New Zealand and Australia. We’re not sure when it will land in the U.S., but we took the game for a spin. Read on to find out what to expect when this post-apocalyptic game hits an App Store near you. Read More
At GDC last week, we had a chance to go hands-on with the first free Tetris game for iOS, Tetris Blitz. The developers of Trolls vs. Vikings don’t make any excuses about the game’s resemblance to Plants vs. Zombies. They look at PopCap’s modern classic as the start of a new sub-genre of tower defense games. To them, Trolls vs. Vikings simply fits in that genre. We’ll have to wait until it comes out to judge, but our main concern is whether or not Trolls vs. Vikings adds enough of its own to make it worth playing. Read More

For gamers of a certain age, playing Leisure Suit Larry was a rite of passage. Before the internet, it was one of the only ways our generation could view pixelated female forms, with adult humor that seemed more in-line with a novelty shop than a video game. Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded is the iOS (and PC) remake of that groundbreaking game, and after our hands-on time with it (not like that, you pervert!) we felt an equal amount of attraction and repulsion to this sleazy adventure game.
We were big fans of Siegecraft when it came out in 2011. The follow-up, Siegecraft TD, looks like it could be just as good– although totally different. Instead of flinging projectiles at incoming enemies, you set up towers to ward them off. That’s standard for a tower defense game, but Siegecraft TD adds a unique twist with its genre mash-up multiplayer mode. Read More
