The developers behind one of the seminal iPhone classics, Pocket God, announced today that the game has sold more than 2 million copies. No other paid app has ever reached the 2 million threshold, making this the highest selling paid game in the App Store’s short history.
Since its debut in January 2009, Pocket God has received more than 30 free updates, and has received numerous awards from several publications.
‘We couldn’t be happier with the turnout we’ve seen at the island,’ said Dave Castelnuovo, CEO of Bolt Creative. ‘The community has been absolutely incredible embracing this game. From the thousands of YouTube videos to the homemade Halloween costumes to the valuable user feedback we’ve received, we can’t thank our community enough for our success.’
Bolt Creative also wishes you to know that if you stacked all of these users on top of each other they’d be 140 miles tall.
