‘Warhammer 40,000: Deathwatch’ Review: Rodeo’s Finest Yet

Yesterday we posted Gamezebo’s review of this game, which came from someone new to the series who had a good time but wasn’t blown away. Today we’re looking at the 148Apps review, whose writer was extremely impressed. From the 4.5 out of 5 star review:

I find it difficult to care about the need to grind when I’m having so much fun leveling-up my marines. And being able to equip and train my marines makes everything feel more personal, which makes me want to play more, which makes me happier when my marines level-up, etc. I know I say this with each subsequent release, but this is Rodeo Games’ finest work yet.

‘Vault!’ Review: A Clever Twist on the Platformer

Do you like platformers as much as you like pole vaulting? Of course you do. So download the new Nitrome game Vault! to combine your two passions together. From Pocket Gamer’s 7 out of 10 review:

In the hands of an inferior developer, Vault! could have been a bit of a mess, but Nitrome has built a quick-fire arcade action game around a single idea that just works.

It might get a little repetitive, and there might only be a handful of characters to unlock, but there’s a neatly sliced mobile game here all the same.

‘Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon’ Launches August 6

Tiger Style Games has announced a release date for its upcoming sequel Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon. It’s August 6, and to make the announcement even more exciting, they’ve released a brand new trailer. Watch it above. From Touch Arcade:

Man, I’ll tell you what, some things are just worth waiting for. Tiger Style originally teased the new Spider in the fall of 2013, and we got a hands-on demo of a seemingly pretty complete version several months later at GDC 2014. In fact, Tiger Style had hoped to have the game out before the end of 2014, but were committed to the “it’s done when it’s done” mentality. Obviously 2014 came and went, and most recently we went hands-on with Spider again this past March at GDC 2015, where it was looking better than ever. We even gave it a special nod as one of our picks for Best of GDC 2015.

According to a report from SuperData, *Hearthstone recently surpassed the desktop version of the game in revenue, and it’s been a huge plummet for the desktop version in exchange for revenue for the mobile version.

First Impressions of Five Nights at Freddy’s 4

Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon has distributed the demo for the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 to a couple of lucky YouTubers, who posted their initial reactions to the game on YouTube.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is the scariest yet, both in quantity and variety of jump scares. There’s new gameplay elements with it taking place inside of your house, and it’s said to be more difficult than previous games with these guys taking quite a while to even get through the first night. Listening to the sound of the game is more important than ever, which again, really just sets you up for prime positioning for an animatronic to jump out at you.
