It was only up on the screen for a moment, but when demoing how the new Metal graphics processing system works in iOS 8, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare was shown up on the screen. We’ll assume that EA will have more to say about this at E3 next week. But if it’s true that the Frostbite engine is coming to iOS, the possibilities are mind boggling.

We’ve told you before about LateBit Comedy Gaming, a charitable event put on by Do-Gooder Gamers in the Austin, TX area. LateBit combines video game challenges with stand-up comedians, all to support good causes. The next event will be held tomorrow, Saturday, May 31 at 11:45 pm at The New Movement Theater.

The Metal Slug games from SNK Playmore are pixelated perfection if you enjoy run-and-gun arcade games. With their fluid animation, expressive characters, and intense action, each classic Metal Slug game is more exciting than the last. We’ve previously reviewed Metal Slug 1, 2, and 3 on iOS, and now a new adaptation called Metal Slug Defense mixes elements from all three in a creative format optimized for mobile devices.
Candy Crush Saga has been a phenomenal success for King Entertainment, leaving many gamers (and investors) to wonder if the company will be able to follow it up with another hit. They’ve just announced their next game, and given us a first-hand look at it. The next title from King will be Bubble Witch Saga 2, a bubble shooter that shares many of the same qualities as Candy Crush Saga.

In the new Godzilla movie, Godzilla is a savior of humanity more than an unstoppable monster. Godzilla – Smash3 is a movie tie-in game that uses tile-matching puzzle mechanics to activate the creature’s deadly attacks, and in a change from the movie, these attacks are mostly directed at tanks and planes and rarely towards other giant monsters. The time seems right for a free-to-play action game that uses your iOS device’s touch and tilt functions, along with a swinging physics engine and a psychotic talking rabbit, to cause absurd levels of destruction.
