Now that the holiday app explosion is over, this has been an uncharacteristically quiet time for major iPad news and app releases. That said, we take a look back at what we’ve been working on over the past couple of weeks.
iDOS Removed from the App Store
After the iDOS emulator breathed new life in to the iOS retro gaming market, Apple sadly pulled the app from the store, thus dashing the hopes of Zork fans everywhere. We are still not sure of the the reason’s behind the app’s disappearance, though, and hope that it will return soon, in some capacity.
Hamlet or the Last Game without MMORPG Features, Shaders and Product Placement
While it doesn’t revolutionize the point-and-click adventure field, this endearing game with the ultra long name has excellent, charming production values and is well worth the time of any lover of the genre. Read our review.
Steve Jobs Goes on Medical Leave . . . Again.
The Cupertino faithful were sorry to hear this week that their beloved Grand High Steve was forced to take another health-related leave of absence from the company he put on the map. Here’s hoping he has a speedy recovery and is back again soon to shepherd the corporation they love so well.
iPad-exclusive Magazine, The Daily, delayed yet again
Amidst talk that iPad magazine sales numbers have been less than stellar, Rupert Murdoch announced this week that Newscorp’s new iPad-only endeavor would be delayed until March, likely to accommodate Apple’s new magazine subscription model.

New iOS 4.3 Feature Speculation
Any update to iOS brings with it countless rumors and speculation about how Apple is poised to make our digital lives just a little bit easier and more futuristic. If the interwebs are to be believed, the upcoming iOS 4.3 release is no different and may bring new four and five-finger multitouch gestures, as well as new uses for our beloved home button.
