We’ve gotten word that the developers of the popular dot-avoidance game Tilt to Live are working on a new iOS game called Outwitters, due out later this year. It will be a hexagon-based strategy game, with a focus on the multiplayer experience. And in case you’re not a die-hard strategy fan, don’t worry: they’ve assured us that Outwitters doesn’t have a million buttons, and that it’s easy to pick up and play.
As a result of the game’s multiplayer-centric bent, Outwitters will have pass-and-play, online matchmaking, and asynchronous play options (meaning you and your opponent don’t have to be online at the same time to play a match). Because the game is still in development, we don’t have a whole lot of details about how the game plays. From the sound of it, the developers are enlisting lots of game testers– some who like strategy games and some who don’t– and making major gameplay tweaks based on the feedback.
Outwitters will be free to try, with the full game unlockable through in-app purchase. Check out the screenshot and concept art below, and read One Man Left’s blog for more details.
