File this firmly into the category of “Oh snap! No they didn’t!” Today Nintendo has spoken out publicly against the iPad, and they’re not exactly fans of Apple’s latest creation.
Speaking with the Associated Press, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said, “there were no surprises for me” and AP noted “he made no pretense to hide he was totally unimpressed with the iPad.”
“It was a bigger iPod Touch,” he said, pulling out a common complaint levied against the recently announced device.
Of course, nobody could have predicted the extent to which the iPhone has threatened Nintendo’s first-place standing in handheld gaming. At this point, the iPad may not seem like the future to some, but we would think that Fortune 500 CEOs would at least respect the power of Apple’s brand, even if they don’t like it.
