Your iOS Device is Now a Pokédex

Thanks to Siri’s ability to search the Wolfram Alpha database, every iPhone is now a convenient Pokédex. That’s because Wolfram Alpha has added detailed charts and information about 649 Pokémon to its index.

To test it, just activate Siri and say, “Search Wolfram for…” and add whatever Pokémon you want info about. (Hint: if it doesn’t work, try again and add the word “Pokémon”.) When you do, up pops everything you’d want to know about that Pokemon, from its Pokédex number to its footprint and hit points.

Nintendo may not have plans to release games on iOS, but at least Siri can help you sort out your Pokémon.

  1. not very accurate – and doesn’t show locations the pokemon can be found and/or when it evolves and/or what moves it learns and when it learns them which is actually more important than anything than Siri shows.
