The Making of the Original iPhone

Over the weekend the New York Times Magazine ran a fantastic piece on the making of the original iPhone. The author uses interviews with some of the managers and engineers responsible for making Steve Jobs’ vision a reality, and discusses how challenging the project was on numerous levels.

The article is framed around the unveiling of the iPhone in 2007. Apparently, it was a miracle that the demonstration went off without a hitch. In nearly all of the rehearsals, the apps kept crashing on the phone as Jobs tried to show them off. Read the full article here.
