Marvel has announced that a new X-Men game is in the works for iOS. It’s called Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past, and it’s scheduled to hit the App Store in May.
The game is being made by Glitchsoft, and it uses the same mobile engine they used in He-Man: The Most Powerful Game in the Universe. According to Marvel, it will be a side-scrolling 2D action game with a focus on combat.
Days of Future Past, as comic fans may already know, is a classic X-Men story line written by Chris Claremont and published in 1980. It takes place in a dark future (set in 2013) in which the world has turned on mutants, and humans round them up and keep them in internment camps. The Kitty Pride of 2013 sends her mind back to her 1980 self and rallies the X-Men to change a key event that leads to the dark future.
That’s all the info we have so far, but we enjoyed Glitchsoft’s He-Man, so this X-Men game will almost certainly be worth a look.
