Mobile MMO ‘Galaxy on Fire – Alliances’ Announced

Fishlabs has just announced that they’re working on a new massively multiplayer online game called Galaxy on Fire – Alliances. The game will take place in the Galaxy on Fire universe, and will focus on real-time strategy elements. The release date is scheduled for Q3 of this year. Read on for details and screenshots.

Galaxy on Fire – Alliances will be a free-to-play game that the developer says will be “cooperative and competitive in equal shares.” Fishlabs CEO Michael Schade seems to anticipate potential freemium backlash from fans, and insists that the game will be premium quality, and that it will include “all the features and characteristics that have made our previous titles so unique and successful.”

Alliances takes place in an unexplored corner of the universe that’s full of artifacts and resources. Players can take part in the budding resource-mining operation by playing as the Terran, Vossk, or Nivelian factions, and strategizing combatively or forming alliances with neighbors.

We’re huge fans of the Galaxy on Fire series, so we’re hoping for big things from Galaxy on Fire – Alliances. Whether the freemium model will help or hurt the series, we’ll have to wait and see. But in the meantime, be sure to download Galaxy on Fire 2 HD, an excellent game that’s available for free until February 15. You can download it here.

  1. i do not like real time strategy games thats why i choose to play games like gof2, i reather wait to see a gof 3 in to the future not alliance the rts, they should keep the galaxy on fire francise for future space action rpg’s and do another title for a rts games, because they will brake harts for gof2 title that expect a gof3, this is my pure opinion as a gof2 fan

  2. Its a pity they decided to go the route of the hundreds of thousands of samey ‘rts/strategy’ mmo games. If they only integrated this with a real time space action rpg they would have something. too bad.

  3. When I first heard it was an MMO, I thought it would be more GOF2 with multiplayer wars and such (like EVE Online multiplayer). Instead we get another pay2win freemium rts game…
At least my friends will play this game with me.
One thing’s for sure, as a HUGE GOF2 fan (Over 70 hours logged), I will be one of the first to get this game and I may even throw some money at it if it’s remotely similar in any way to GOF2.
