Good news: Lots of new Fighting Fantasy content is coming to iOS and Android courtesy of Tin Man Games! Bad news: There are no immediate plans to re-release the books/games that were adapted under Big Blue Bubble’s license. Neil Rennison, the Creative Director of Tin Man Games, was kind enough to tell us what’s up.
“At the moment it’s very early days for us with the FF license and we only have four of the series planned out, which are definitely not the five that BBB have previously released. The first is Blood of the Zombies, which will be followed by House of Hell. We’ll announce the other two nearer the time. All of these will be available on iOS and Android.”
So we’re going from rigged dungeons to houses slithering with unspeakable evil. Sounds good: Everyone benefits from a change of scenery.
Take heed, wanderer. This is your last chance to buy the excellent iOS adaptations of the Fighting Fantasy book/RPG series. On August 14, Big Blue Bubble’s license expires and the games will vanish from the App Store. If you miss out, you are likely to be eaten by a grue named Regret.
The books/games that are up for extermination include:
Each game is available for $2.99, and you’re guaranteed at least one agonizing death per ‘book.’
Tin Man Games will be handling the Fighting Fantasy license from now on starting with an iOS adaptation of Blood of the Zombies, the latest book from series’ author Ian Livingstone. At this point, it’s not clear if Tin Man Games will re-release the classic five Fighting Fantasy books on iOS anytime soon, though we’ve reached out to the team for comment.
