iOS 7 Announced, Coming this Fall

Apple announced iOS 7 today at the WWDC keynote. It’s coming this fall, and will run on iPhone 4 and newer, iPad 2 and newer, iPad Mini, and iPod Touch 5. As rumors had suggested, it has a flatter design, and looks significantly different from the iOS we’re used to seeing.

As far as gaming goes, they’re including support for third-party controllers, which could be promising. They didn’t go into any details on this topic, so we’ll have to wait and see what exactly that means. Also, the Game Center app has a totally new look (goodbye felt!), but they didn’t announce any new features.

  1. And just like that, your precious library of iPhone games will suddenly develop a new set of game-breaking bugs.

Lets hope iOS 7 will be worth it…

    • So you’re categorically against OS software updates? I predict we’ll be fine, and our games will be playable.

      • Well… it wouldn’t be the first time this has happened. When iOS 6 came out, several of my favorite games started having problems.

While a few were updated, the others never worked again.
