At Mobile World Congress 2012, iNiS announced Eden to GREEEEN for Google Android devices running the Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. iNiS is known for the outstanding Elite Beat Agents and the Lips series. Built with Epic’s Unreal Engine, Eden to GREEEEN is a “tower-offense” game with gorgeous graphics and the unique iNiS charm. Check out additional details and the launch trailer below.
Here’s an excerpt from the official press release:
Built on Unreal Engine, the game features beautiful stylized graphics that bring the vibrant world of Eden to life. With smooth controls that work seamlessly on Tegra 3-powered quad-core devices, easy to pick-up gameplay, and replayability that provides levels of achievement, Eden to GREEEEN is a game for all ages and all skill levels.
“The concept of Mother Nature wanting to reclaim the earth from the machines delivers both a great underlying theme for the game and a rewarding experience as players bring beauty back to the world,” said Keiichi Yano, CEO of iNiS. “With the help of NVIDIA’s powerful Tegra 3 processor and the unmatched Unreal Engine, we’ve been able to bring this fun creation to life. The world’s getting their first chance to play it at Mobile World Congress now.”
With dozens (hundreds?) of tower-defense/tower-offense games on the market, it’s difficult to stand out. Eden to GREEEEN totally has my attention. First of all, it’s iNiS — those cats are awesome. Secondly, the graphics are stylish and impressive. Lastly, it’s interesting that this is being pushed hard as a Tegra 3 game. I’m sure there are millions of iOS gamers and Android gamers sans Tegra 3 that would love to play Eden to GREEEEN. That will eventually be the case, I’m sure, but when will that be?
For now, check out the trailer and let me know what you think of Eden to GREEEEN. The Slide to Play crew will be interviewing Yano-san next week at Game Developers Conference 2012. If you have any questions for him, please leave them in the comments section.
