Guitar Hero Rocks the App Store

Another big-name game announcement was made today at WWDC: Guitar Hero for the iPhone. And it wasn’t just announced, it’s actually out now. You can buy it here for $2.99.

Like other music/rhythm games on the App Store, six songs are included in the original download, but you can purchase additional song packs from an in-game store. The songs included are the following:

Queen – “We Are The Champions”

Rise Against – “Savior”

The Rolling Stones – “Paint It Black”

The White Stripes – “Seven Nation Army”

Weezer – “Say It Ain’t So”

Vampire Weekend – “Cousins”

The game also incorporates avatar customization, Facebook integration, and a unique strum mechanic. We’ll see how it holds up against its arch rival Rock Band, which hit the App Store back in October.
