Gameloft Announces Dungeon Hunter 4

Gameloft has taken to Twitter to announce that they’re working on Dungeon Hunter 4. Traditionally, they package their game announcements with a teaser trailer or screenshots, but that doesn’t appear to be the case here. Their YouTube channel and Facebook page show no mention of the game, so all we have to go on is the tweet.

The only details we have about Dungeon Hunter 4 are that it will be an action RPG, with a new story, dungeons, loot, and what we take to be crafting. It will be interesting to see what direction they take with the game, seeing as we loved the first two entries in the series, but thought the third went off the rails by being a freemium arena-based hack-and-slash, rather than sticking to the campaign-based RPG action of the first two.

  1. So come on Slidetoplay. You mentioned on twitter you were meeting up with Gameloft about DH4, please be honest and dont praise it like you did DH3 ! Is it good or bad ?

    • Our preview of DH4 will be online next week. In our Dec 2011 preview of DH3, we were skeptical of the arena layout and freemium model, and we still felt that way in the final review. I think it’s safe to say that Gameloft has learned from the critical and fan response to DH3.
