We’ve just received more exclusive news about Zenonia 2: The Lost Memories to share with our readers. This time, we take a closer look at the four playable characters, plus some new screenshots from the mobile version. Oh, and something called Player vs. Player mode…
Each of the four characters — Lu, Ecne, Morpice, and Daza– have their own storyline and start off the game differently. Here is a rundown of each.
Lu is your standard warrior/paladin, much like Regret in the original Zenonia.
Ecne is a sharpshooter who uses guns from a long distance.
Morpice is a mage and magician.
Daza is a close combat fighter with a badass rhino horn attached to his head.
There have also been some major upgrades to gameplay. One of the most promising is full character customization through over 1200 new items. This means that you will not only be able to spec your character wisely but dress them for success as well (screens are from the mobile version).
Next up are the obvious improvements in graphics and sound, which are noticeable in these screenshots depicting spells. Also note Ecne’s sharpshooting, which uses crosshairs, possibly a new mechanic.
Zenonia 2 will also feature new ways to interact with the environment, such as climbing, magma flowing, and skidding on ice. These could make for some interesting environmental puzzles.
Finally, Player vs. Player mode will allow players to fight against each other, but we have no additional details on this at the moment. We’ll let you know as soon as we find out more.
The first trailer for Zenonia 2 is here, along with a release date: March 2010. Among the touted features: A Player vs Player mode! Check it out after the jump.
Korean mobile publisher Gamevil made a breakthrough in iPhone gaming and shook up the entire community with their full-blown action RPG, Zenonia, earlier this year. Originally designed for mobile phones in their home country, the game offered some of the best gaming available on the market. Zenonia saw widespread success on the App Store, and from our review you can see we highly enjoyed it. Now, we are pleased to offer further details on the recently announced sequel, Zenonia 2: The Lost Memories.
The storyline of Zenonia 2 will be somewhat continuous of the original. However, it takes place some time after the events of its predecessor. Also, there are now four unique playable characters, which will give players additional choice regarding which path they choose. We’ve got super high-res images of these characters from this poster provided to us by Gamevil.
Zenonia 2 is scheduled for release in Korea soon, and Gamevil is shooting to have it on the App Store by Q1, 2010. We will give extended details as we get them. Expect our preview of another Gamevil game by the same team as Zenonia, Hybrid: Eternal Whisper, in the very near future.
Also, if you want to get your own look at a Gamevil work in progress, and want to help them make it better, Gamevil is looking for beta testers for Baseball Superstars 2010 in our forum. If chosen, you will receive a $10 gift card when the game comes out, and your name will be in the credits!
