Dead Trigger Goes Free-to-Play on iOS

Dead Trigger, a first-person zombie shooter from Madfinger Games, has gone free-to-play (FTP) on iOS. It’s not an extremely surprising move, given that the Android version went free-to-play a week and some change ago.

When Dead Trigger first went FTP on Android, Madfinger Games released a very irritated statement that blamed the switch on rampant piracy.

‘[P]iracy rate[s] on Android devices, that was unbelievably high,’ claimed the studio. ‘At first we intend to make this game available for as many people as possible – that’s why it was for as little as buck. – It was much less than 8$ for SHADOWGUN but on the other hand we didn’t dare to provide it for free, since we hadn’t got XP with free-to-play format so far.’

As we note in our review of Dead Trigger, it’s a good-looking game that’s based on solid shooter mechanics. You may as well pick it up; it won’t cost you a dime!–unless you opt to power up via some in-app purchases.
