Cave Announces Original iPhone Game Mushihimesama Bug Panic

Cave has just released a lengthy new gameplay trailer for their upcoming game Mushihimesama Bug Panic. From the looks of it, it’s a combination of an adventure game and a dual-stick shooter, with bullet-hell sugar on top. One thing’s for sure: There’s a lot going on onscreen, so it’s no surprise that the game won’t run on older hardware (see the list here).

Based on Cave’s excellent track record with Dodonpachi Resurrection and Espgaluda 2, we can’t wait to get our hands on this game. But even if you haven’t played their previous efforts, you should still watch the video, if only for the music at the beginning. It’s a force to be reckoned with.

Mushihimesama Bug Panic will be released this fall. As always, we’ll keep you posted as we hear more.

We just got word from Cave that Mushihimesama Bug Panic will be released on Thursday, November 18, at a sale price of $3.99. Four days later it will go up to its regular price of $4.99. But if you’re not sure this game’s for you, a lite version will be available at a later date. By the way, check out the tiny anime pic they sent with the announcement. This girl’s got spirit.

November 18 is coming right up, so you’d better start doing your thumb exercises now. Judging from the trailer below, you’ll need maximum dexterity to handle the action.

Japanese developer Cave, continuing their tradition of giving their iPhone games completely indecipherable titles like Dodonpachi Resurrection and Espgaluda 2, has just announced a new action game called Mushihimesama Bug Panic for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Details are scarce, but we do have an introductory trailer that shows off some of the characters, set to absolutely mind-blowing J-Pop. We also have a compatibility list that shows which older devices will not run Mushihimesama, which you can view here.

At this point, we also know that Mushihimesama Bug Panic is not a port of the Match-3 game Mushihime-tama, due to a comment Cave made on Twitter. It does feature the same main character from the Xbox 360 game Mushihime-sama Futari, but will be an original iPhone game.

We’ll bring you more on this game as we find new screenshots and details. You can also check out Cave’s teaser website here.
