Big Game Night: Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7, The King of Fighters i 2012 and More

It’s another big week on the App Store, with new games featuring everything from wizards and zombies to fighters and aristocrats. Check out tonight’s big games from Warner Brothers, Square Enix, SNK Playmore, and more! These will all be live on the US App Store tonight at 8pm Pacific.

Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7

Last time the Lego Harry Potter series came to iOS in November 2010, we declared it a Must Have and our Game of the Month. Now, you can find out what happens in the rest of the story, assuming you’ve never read the books or seen the movies. The Lego versions of these high school wizards don’t say much, but they do act out in humorous, lighthearted cutscenes.

The King of Fighters i 2012

Last year, Street Fighter got some heavy competition when The King of Fighters entered the ring. But just like the way Street Fighter IV Volt upped the ante with online multiplayer, now The King of Fighters has a separate, updated app with online multiplayer as well. This 2012 version has many more characters as well– 32 compared to the original game’s 20.

Victorian Mysteries: Woman in White

Surprise! Square Enix is launching a new game tonight, but it’s not another Final Fantasy or Chaos Rings title. Instead, it’s a follow-up to last year’s hidden object game, Victorian Mysteries. In Woman in White, based on the 1859 novel by Wilkie Collins, you have to solve a mystery by exploring a mansion, solving puzzles, and uncovering hidden objects.

Brainsss

In this action-strategy game, you have to give directions to a pack of zombies who are devouring the city’s supply of brains, one human at a time. Humans will try to run from your pack of ghouls, so you’ll have to split up and surround them. It’s quite a bit of fun to surround an especially aggressive human, like a cop or soldier, and descend on them horror-movie style.

My Little Hero

NCSoft, the makers of PC MMOs, have previously released the games Gem Keeper and Hoppin’ Chicken on the App Store. But their next game, an action-adventure, looks a bit like a 3D Zelda. You play as a boy who puts on a cardboard helmet and steps through his closet into a fantasy world full of monsters. His arsenal includes toys like a slingshot for ranged attacks, an inner tube for crossing bodies of water, and an umbrella for landing long, difficult jumps.
