Big Game Night: Jet Set Radio, Sky Gamblers, and More

Tonight’s iOS haul is a bit lighter than expected, with Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Modern Combat 4 both apparently pushed back to early December. But there are still a few big iOS launches from companies like Sega and Capcom, along with a new game from freemium MMORPG makers Spacetime Studios. Click ahead for your download links, which will take you to the US App Store after 8pm PST.

Jet Set Radio

With Sega’s ChuChu Rocket and Crazy Taxi, along with other 1990s revivals like Re-Volt, iOS is becoming a home for Dreamcast outcasts. Jet Set Radio is a classic action-platformer where you play as a rollerblading vandal who has to spray every available wall with graffiti. We enjoyed the iOS port of Crazy Taxi quite a bit, so we’re hoping Jet Set Radio matches that high level of quality.

Sky Gamblers: Storm Raiders

Namco’s flight combat series, which was used by Apple to demonstrate Retina gaming on the iPad 3 earlier this year, returns to the App Store again with Storm Raiders. While the last game was set in modern times, Storm Raiders is a WWII-themed dogfighter that will take you to historic battles like Pearl Harbor and the Battle of Britain. So far, this series hasn’t let us down, and the gameplay video you can view above looks quite outstanding.

Street Fighter X Tekken Gauntlet

If you were curious about the Capcom/Namco cross-over fighter Street Fighter X Tekken, but haven’t decided to purchase the full version, this free download might be what you’re looking for. Gauntlet provides you with an endless series of bouts, but you can only play as either Ryu or Kazuya. You’re also faced with a ticking time limit, so you’ll have to meet certain achievements to put bonus seconds on the clock. This one’s available in the US right now.

Arcane Legends

We’ve told you about Pocket Legends, Star Legends, and Dark Legends, the three previous free-to-play MMORPGs from Texas-based Spacetime Studios. Though they’ve only changed incrementally from series to series, Arcane Legends takes everything the developers have learned previously and puts it all in one new game. Lower lag, charge attacks, and interconnected realms are some of the highlights we heard about back at E3, potentially making Arcane Legends Spacetime’s most polished MMO so far. Arcane Legends is available as a free download right now.

The Bowling Dead

Activision is pushing their mobile games division pretty hard with a pair of new Skylanders games for iOS, but what about zombies? Obviously, we’re not talking Black Ops: Zombies, but bowling with zombies. Tonight you can download this kooky flick-based game, where you have to spill zombie guts using a heavy bowling ball. The Bowling Dead looks like a combination of Flick Baseball and Pro Zombie Soccer, so it might be worth a try.
