Firework Apprentice

This is an adventure game with a unique premise. It sends you on a journey across floating islands to a firework contest at the emperor’s palace. Along the way you have to solve puzzles and blow stuff up by using just the right amount of explosives. It looks different and interesting, so we’ll definitely check it out.

Flashout 2

Who’s in the mood for a neon-lit hover car racer? More like “who’s not in the mood for one,” amiright? This game reminds us of F-Zero, and that’s not a bad thing. If it plays as good as it looks, this one might be a winner.

Folt

This minimalist puzzler might break your brain. You flip over colored squares to create a path. The idea is to watch what colors are coming up and align three like colors in a row. Check out the animated gif on the developer’s site here to see it in action.

Red Bull Racers

Say what you will about adver-games, but this one at least looks good on the surface. And the App Store description describes it as “easy but challenging,” so what else do you need to know? Insta-download.

Scuba Diver Adventures: Beyond the Depths

This game sure looks beautiful. You play as a scuba diver on the hunt for lost treasure. You can collect coins, find hidden areas, and take pictures of all the neat stuff you find. Looks pretty laid back and chill, which can be a nice diversion from blowing things up in other games.

Sometimes You Die

Here’s an interesting take on the old-fashioned platformer template. In this game the levels are impossible to pass— until you die. Your dead bodies remain on the screen, and you respawn with the ability to jump on the bodies of your previous attempts. Clever.

Scuba Diver, it’s EA… I wanted something like this (there exists a similar title for Wii) on iPad for a long time. Thinking about buying, just don’t like EA behind this :O
