Big Game Night: Dropchord, Kid Tripp, and More

Hoo boy, tonight’s a busy night on the App Store. At 11 p.m. EST, you’ll be able to rock out to dub-step tunes, die repeatedly in one of the most challenging platformers on the App Store, and more. Read on for our list of the biggest games launching tonight.

Baby Nom Nom

Did you ever play with one of those plastic tilting puzzles, where you try to move a marble through a maze? Baby Nom Nom is kind of like that, except you’re trying to transport baby food to deliver to the eponymous child. Also, it’s from the makers of the excellent Table Top Racing, so we have faith in this one.

Kid Tripp

Do you like your platformers tough as nails? If so, you’ll love Kid Tripp. This game is more than a little reminiscent of Adventure Island, with its auto-running and simple jump and shoot controls. But don’t expect it to pull its punches. This is a game for those who love a good challenge.

Knightmare Tower

Not every game has to be a 40 hour epic. Sometimes you just want to hop on enemies and slash them with a sword. That’s what you do in Knightmare Tower, and it looks like a lot of fun.

Pivvot

This game looks a lot like Super Hexagon, in all the right ways. In Pivvot, you test your reflexes as you glide along a line, dodging obstacles in your path. To quote Dr. Who, blink and you’re dead.

Puddle

This game doesn’t look all that different from Baby Nom Nom, but its cool art style may appeal to more gamers. In Puddle, you tilt the levels to direct liquid from point A to point B. You know the drill: dodge obstacles, pay attention to timing, and most importantly, stay alive.

Rymdkapsel

This unpronounceable marvel is a port of a PS Vita strategy game. It has you piece together a base in outer space, using Tetris-like pieces. Then you have to mine resources and defend the base from enemies using laser turrets. By all accounts, it’s not a bad way to spend a few hours.
