App Store Top Ten: Week of October 11, 2010

It’s official: Cut the Rope is a hit. In fact, it’s the only game to have bumped Angry Birds from the top spot in months that appears to have staying power. Moving on, it’s no surprise that Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus makes its debut on the list at number 6 this week, but notably absent is Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1. The blue rodent currently hovers at number 16, possibly because he’s lost some of his cachet over the years– but more likely because of the game’s hefty $9.99 price tag and short play time. Our Bottom Line: Stick Stunt Biker doesn’t bring anything new to the table, and its poorly considered UI causes more frustration than necessary.

#10: Cupcakes! Holiday Edition

Most Helpful iTunes Review: I like that they have a holiday cupcake app now but they should add stuff for more holidays. They should organize them so there’s a Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas section for the decorations.
