Break out your iPhones, Bronies. Pick up your iPads, Pegasisters. Yesterday, Gameloft distributed a press release announcing a new partnership with toy giant Hasbro Inc. What’s it all mean? Gameloft will be developing games based on The Littlest Pet Shop and My Little Pony for iOS and Android. Licensing deals are magic.
“Creating highly inventive and accessible digital play experiences based on our world-class brands continues to be at the core of Hasbro’s mission and we envision Gameloft to be a key player in the ongoing execution of that global strategy,’ stated Hasbro’s Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing, Mark Blecher. ‘This agreement brings together Hasbro’s powerhouse girls’ brands with one of the industry’s preeminent mobile game developers which will take MY LITTLE PONY and LITTLEST PET SHOP play to an entirely new level of fun.”
(Pssst, Mr. Blecher–lots of guys like My Little Pony, too. Or didn’t you notice?)
We should be seeing some Hasbro-branded games from Gameloft by the end of 2012.
