At Mobile World Congress, the gaming accessory company Mad Catz announced that they’re working on an iOS 7 controller called the C.T.R.L.i. Like the recently-announced Signal RP One (what’s with these names?), the C.T.R.L.i looks a lot like a console controller, which gamers are likely to prefer over the other iOS 7 controllers that have been released.
The controller is still in the prototype stage, but they’re trying to release it by April, so they don’t have too much more time to tinker before getting it into production. It comes with a spring-loaded clip that allows you to attach an iPhone to the controller. The clip is also adjustable, so it will theoretically hold a larger iPhone if the rumors are true and Apple releases a 5-inch one this year.
The build quality of the previous crop of iOS 7 controllers hasn’t impressed us, but the folks at Engadget– who got to use the C.T.R.L.i– say it feels good in the hands. Mad Catz is planning to sell it for $80 when it’s released in April.
If it works well and feels good, this could be the best iOS 7 controller yet.
