Playdead, the developer behind the atmospheric platformer Limbo, has posted a job listing to hire a programmer whose responsibilities would include porting the game to new platforms. Among the platforms being considered is iOS.
Limbo was originally released for Xbox Live Arcade in 2010 to near universal critical praise, and is now available on the PlayStation 3 and PC. The game is a black-and-white platformer starring a young boy who has to navigate a decidedly nightmarish world. An iOS port makes a lot of sense, as Limbo’s traditional 2D platformer controls would translate well to a touchscreen device.
This news comes only three weeks after Team Meat announced that they’re considering an iOS port of Super Meat Boy. As far as we’re concerned, the more ports of excellent indie games iOS gets, the better. So anyone reading this with the proper programming skills, please apply and bring this terrific title to iOS– assuming, of course, that you’re willing to relocate to Copenhagen.
