Apple N’ Apps’ daily selection of apps gone free contains a sampling of education and zombies. That way, when you get tired of learning, you can play a game about things that eat brains.
Up for grabs is SkySafari 4 (an astronomy app), Travel List (a packing app), aNote (a note-taking app), and Little Frights (a 2D side-scrolling zombie-shooting game).
Looks like the mobile gaming world is still in love with fiendishly difficult action games. The latest in digital thumb-torture, Mr Jump, tallied up over five million downloads in a mere week. It’s also making quite a bit of bank.
There are pop-over ads in the game, which appear pretty infrequently, but you can also pay $1.99 to get rid of them forever. You can also pay $0.99 to unlock the next level, or simply beat it the old-fashioned way of navigating each level’s hazards to unlock a new one. 12 levels are currently included, with more to come, according to the developers.
MadFinger’s model-building app Monzo recently updated for iOS and Android with a new project: The MIR space station. If you like building glorious things out of tiny, fiddly pieces, your time has come.
You can now build the Russian MIR space station, if you’ve got £5.99 / $7.99 in your pocket. And Airfix veterans can play in ‘Expert Mode’ which removes the step-by-step instructions, and rewards you with special colours and stickers.
