Round-Up of the remainder of GDC2011:

Chris went to EA and Chillingo event, played Painkiller: Purgatory, which turns out to be a real wiener of a game. Blobster, however, looked a lot more promising. It's an engaging 2D platformer with a bit of a Katamari feel.

Andrew got a look at Blackstar, from the makers of Pocket Legends. Blackstar is a sci-fi MMO RPG, a WoW in space. Originally developer for the PC, the game was cancelled for that platform, but is now coming soon for the iPhone/iPad.

Out of this World/Another World is also coming to iOS. A great, classic adventure game from back in the 1980's, this title looks to be a nicely executed port.

Super Brothers' Sword and Sorcery EP, shown at E3 last year, was shown in a more detail. This game is tied to the phases of the moon. According to the game's site, the title should be available around the vernal equinox (consult your almanack).

Tiger Woods PGA Tour '12: Now with Hoors.*

Games:

Chris has been playing: Kami Retro - Crazy flicking/swiping + platform + lemmings Retro Pixel Mashup.

Andrew suffered through Painkiller: Purgatory, but also got to play DJ Rivals, which was great. It's from a company called Booyah, which has made a lot of social games with geo-locating checkins. DJ Rivals uses that same approach, but adds a rhythm game element. You can be a virtual corner DJ Busker? The game is free to play, but limited to a small amount of play-time per day—you need to buy "ice" or download free/un-free games in their promotional network.

Podcast Question:

Brendan Asks: What three features do you want to see added to GameCenter? He wants: 1.) Show who's online, 2.) Messaging, 3.) Forums, etc to find new friends. Andrew and Chris have some ideas too...
