Just when you thought it was safe in the water (or the water was full of iPad Mini rumors), the iPhone 5 rumors have returned! The latest buzz points to a complete physical redesign, a larger screen, a variation of the A5X processor, and internal testing being conducted by Apple employees as you read this. Check it out.
MacRumors’ sources say that the iPhone 5 will have a smoother design and a larger screen. The site quoted Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White as saying:
In our view, this will be the most significant iPhone upgrade with a four-inch screen and a new, sleek look that we believe will require a Unibody case. This new, sleek look will be the most important reason that consumers decide to upgrade to the iPhone 5, while we believe the addition of 4G will also attract buyers of the new device.
In related news, 9to5 Mac claims that internal testing of the iPhone 5 is underway and that the phone uses a variation of the A5X processor found in the iPad 2012. Traditionally, the processor used in the iPad made its way to the next phone. However, some pundits believe that the A5X is just a stopgap chip, with its “only” dual-core CPU complementing a quad-core GPU. Some experts expect the next iPhone to have the A6 processor, which would boast a quad-core CPU and GPU.
How do you think it will play out? Will the iPhone 5 feature a new industrial design? Will it have a larger screen? Will it house the A5X or the A6? Share your thoughts on the latest iPhone 5 rumors!
