The week of Black Friday is a week of deals, and the App Store is no exception. Chair Entertainment is currently offering the original Infinity Blade free of charge (down from $5.99). So if you don’t have it yet, read our review and hop over to the App Store to grab it up while the getting’s good.
True Skate has been around for two and a half years, a lifetime in mobile games. But the cool thing is that it’s still getting upgrades through $0.99 in-app purchased new levels. Unexpected, but very awesome.
In True Skate, the player controls a skateboard with two fingers, making this almost like a music timing game. Each move of the finger, or coordinated moves of two fingers lead to a trick or some sort of control of the board. Don’t worry, it sounds insanely hard, but the tutorial does a good job of guiding new players through the game.
It’s a very fun escape.
Sorus Shield is an interesting beast. It has obvious influence from Tetris — but it’s also more of a level based puzzle game like Candy Crush Saga. And it works!
In this game the pieces move from bottom to top and match in the familiar way. The difference being that pieces can move freely when parts of them are matched. This game also riffs on the Tetris model by having multiple varieties of obstacles and variations on the theme that are added as the levels increase.
All in all, Sorus Shield is a fun little game that works really well on mobile.
