Here’s some great news for gamers who were around in the PlayStation 2 era. Rockstar Games has just announced that they’re bringing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to iOS and Android next month.
This isn’t all that surprising, seeing as they brought Grand Theft Auto 3 to iOS in December of 2011 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in December 2012. (And let’s not forget Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, which was released in January 2010, but seems to have been removed from the App Store for some reason.)
Anyway, San Andreas is a ridiculously huge game that takes place in an enormous alternate West Coast setting in the ’90s. The iOS version will sport some improvements, like “newly remastered graphics including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, plus enhanced character and car models make this the best-looking version of San Andreas yet.” It will also have a new checkpoint system for “easier progression,” as well as iOS 7 controller support. We have a feeling this game will move a lot of MOGA and Logitech controllers.
