It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Trogdor in flight… it’s Super Jetpack Dragon! In what is apparently his fourth adventure, you’ll jump across mountaintops and burn down walls and villages that stand in your way. However, if you don’t mind missing out on the iPad’s higher-res graphics, you may settle for the ad-supported free iPhone version instead.
You control Super Jetpack Dragon by pressing the left side of the screen to make him jump across ledges and pick up floating meat for extra points. Then, you can press the same side again to stay airborne longer with your jetpack. Holding your finger on the right side of the screen causes the dragon to shoot forward and spew flames out of his mouth. This is useful for burning down walls and villages for bonus points. Using your flame or jetpack uses up fuel, which regenerates when you aren’t touching the screen.
Burninating the peasants.
Like we mentioned, you can download a free, identical iPhone version of the game as well. It does include ads before every round, which you must click through. These are a little annoying, but whether it’s worth $1.99 to get rid of them and play it natively on the iPad is up to you. Currently, there is no way to buy an ad-free version for the iPhone.
Both game versions include Plus+. The great feature here is that your scores and achievements from one version carry over to the other, so you can keep playing on anywhere, with whatever device is most convenient to use.
This game can be quite addictive, so our guess is that you’ll want to have it available anywhere. Even if you don’t plan on spending $1.99, give the free iPhone version a go.
