Global Gab teaches military youth about the languages of countries where their parents may be deployed. The game was originally developed for the military youth website MilitaryKidsConnect.org, and uses a matching format to teach basic words in Arabic, Dari, Korean, Spanish and Tagalog.
Children often are anxious about where their parent is going and have many questions. Global Gab provides a fun, interactive way for children to hear and see the language their parents will experience. In addition, youth can connect to deployed parents or friends by sending game challenges.
Global Gab was developed by the Department of Defense’s National Center for Telehealth and Technology (T2). T2’s mission is to lead the development of telehealth and technology solutions for psychological health and traumatic brain injury to improve the lives of our nation’s warriors, veterans and their families.
