At Ease uses a popular casual game format to provide military youth with simple coping tools as they deal with the deployment of a parent.
Developed originally for the military youth website www.militarykidsconnect.org, At Ease is a popular “match 3″ type game. The varied emotions children experience during a parent’s deployment are normalized through engaging emoticons that are matched to earn points.
Strategies for coping with stress and deployments are presented throughout the game play and as optional text. In addition, youth can connect to deployed parents or friends by sending game challenges.
At Ease was developed by the Department of Defense National Center for Telehealth and Technology (T2). T2’s mission is to lead the development of telehealth and technology solutions for psychological health and Traumatic Brain Injury to improve the lives of our nation’s warriors, veterans and their families.
